Maybelline FIT ME Foundation Review

So recently, I wrote a post talking about foundation and even recommended Maybelline as having versatile choices for their foundation especially when it comes to shade. One of Maybelline's most popular foundation is the FIT ME. It is their liquid foundation that is meant to fit your skin tone, your type.

I have bought MAC for three years before finally purchasing a drugstore foundation. Maybelline FIT ME! was the first drugstore foundation that I actually liked (I tired Covergirl before and hated it). I re-purchased it recently in shade 310 "Sun beige."

PACKAGING

I love the sleek, modern package and it just looks like you have a lot of foundation. The packaging reminds me much like MAC expect in rectangular form. Nothing leaks from the pack and it certainly never unscrews magically. It is actually secured. What I love even more, is the cap. You know how sometimes you open a foundation, the cap has some foundation in it. Well, I usually grab my foundation from the cap and the FIT ME cap is perfect to fit my brush in there and grab the foundation I want.

For a drugstore foundation, the shades are very versatile. Usually, drugstores do not sell foundation to women of color, but FIT ME! has a few foundations women of color can use. But the dark shades for these women apparently do not have SPF of 18. Maybelline does not clarify if it is no SPF, lighter SPF or more SPF.

The foundation in the bottle is actually lighter than what appears. So if you go and buy the foundation, you might want to pick a foundation of a darker shade, but if you do go lighter, you can always use bronzer. So the pigmentation is a bit distorted by the bottle.
Other than that, the pigmentation seems to have a yellow undertone which is a bit more natural.

TEXTURE

The texture as you can see ic creamy and light-weight which is why it gives you a light-medium coverage. If applied too much or if your brush is not clean, it can have a cakey texture. There were many times when I applied the foundation, it had the cakey texture on my face. But if applied right, there shouldn't be any problems.

LONGEVITY

7/10

Lasts 8 hours with primer, lasts 4 hours without primer. Blush, highlight powder and contour powder does not last long on the foundation. 

APPLICATION 

8/10

Goes on easy, blends well, can get cakey though. A little goes a long way. Best blended with a foundation brush.
